Crime Report: Apartment Shootings Around the U.S. from 11/16/15
Here are some of the news stories of gun violence at multifamily communities throughout the country. When not acted upon, violence and crime in and around apartment communities is the #1 basis for a premise liability case.
- A confusing and shocking story came out of affluent Scottsdale, AZ, where two roommates where shot and murdered in their apartment unit at Hayden Park Apartments, a Greystar apartment community. At this point, police do not have a suspect and there is no clear motive for the crime. Both victims were known in the community for being generous and upstanding.
- In Washington state, a man in his 20s was found shot to death at Altia apartment homes, a Pinnacle community. While early reports showed no leads, police were later able to track down and apprehend two suspects in the shooting who were known criminals with outstanding warrants. At this point, it appears to be a crime of opportunity with no know relationship between the victim and the accused.
- Denver police are searching for Najib Abdinasir Mahamoud for 1st degree murdered after the accused shot and killed two people, killing one, at Spyglass Hill apartments. He is described as black, 6’3″ and about 165 pounds. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
- Residents of Park Place Apartments in Norristown, PA are asking the property manager to secure their building after two individuals were found dead on the second floor hallway of the apartment building. Detectives are investigating the crime at this point, which marks the 3rd gun related crime in the last two weeks in Norristown.
